Brother mine,
in an icy cell
its been three days
since you fell.
inhaling demons
clouds your mind
Prisoner now,
they'll pry inside.
Brother mine,
Our father told me
You want to die,
You’re scared and lonely.
Remember seeing
My tallied wrist?
you were the first
seeing them exist.
You told me
if I wanted to die
to slit up my skin,
not side to side.
You laughed it off
And so did I
but pain lingered
in both our eyes.
You’ve got a problem
That much is clear
But so do I
It’s bleeding here.
And now you’re helpless
And I’m mute
You’re given a bird cage
Me, rotten fruit.
Brother mine,
Just go without.

Before i know it
the cuts are back again
i actually thought i could hold out,
its funny
in 2 rows of 9
and one of twelve
my wrist hurts
and my heart hurts
because i cant seem to protect you
from your mother monster
i cant shade you
or shield your eyes
i cant take away your blades
from your thighs
i cant always be there
but when i am... times drips like a leaky facet
the droplets are steady
and can never drip
back up
now my wrist runs red
because im not enough
I am not strong tonight,
after you leave your safe haven
are you strong
in the hell you call your home?

Then and Now, a Fairy Tale
Once upon a time
a girl thought she had it bad
when an experimenting boy
was the only love she ever had
She thought she knew the darkness
of struggling alone,
of being used then thrown away,
to rot instead at home
But little did she realize
her troubles weren't as hard
as the ones that latched on after
she considered herself marred
Even after she forgave him,
giving love to someone new,
the girl was stuck with demons
that from past traumas, grew
Unlike her alcoholic brothers,
the girl, she starves her sins,
plagued by the thought of worthlessness
in a battle she's yet to win
And as for the mistakes she makes
she likes to keep a list
she

You might've seen my demons
Did she capture them on film?
Hold them to the sun
for all to see?
If so,
savor those images,
those sweet, dark, frozen frames.
It's the last glimpse you'll ever get
of the girl who dared
to dream.
She dreamed of stretching her arms out
not wrapping them 'round her shoulders
she dreamed of forbidden tastes
desires of people older
than she...
But she wasn't harmed by those dreams,
she wasn't even harmed
by acting on them.
No, they helped her heal.
She was beautiful,
for once.
But your friend,
and my fiend,
called the dreamer's dreams
demons
And then
Stole them
Away.
